Parish Groups

Find Your Place

At St. Joseph’s, we love to gather as one big family- just like we do every Sunday at Mass. But we also recognize that we are a community made up of Children of God of all ages, faith backgrounds, and needs. That’s why we are proud to offer programs and groups that celebrate and offer support to our diverse parish family, and we are confident that you will find a group for you.

The children of St. Joseph Parish join us during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass for a time of prayer, music and liturgy-based activities. This ministry is for children 3-7 years of age who have not yet received 1st Communion and meet in the Lower Hall. Children are called up to the front of the church at the beginning of Mass with the Children’s Liturgy students and then escorted to the Lower Hall for the remainder of the Mass. Parents pick up their children from the Lower Hall after the Mass. If you would like more information about the program, or are interested in volunteering, please contact Marilyn Baktawar at 289-235-9421.

This program is offered during the Liturgy of the Word portion of the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Children’s Liturgy is for all children ages 7+ who have received the Sacrament of First Communion. Children attend Mass and after the Introductory Prayer and Blessing , are invited to process to the Gathering Room or St. Anne’s Room with the Adult Facilitators, for reflection and discussion on the Sunday’s Gospel and Liturgy. Children rejoin their families in the church during the Gift Offering. Parents are welcome and encouraged to assist and partake in the CL session with their child and in particular, if their child may require assistance or additional supervision while in the CL session; parent accompaniment would be mandatory. Volunteering in this important  Children’s Ministry is a great opportunity for Teachers and Early Childhood Educators. If you are interested in volunteering or would like to sit in on a visiting session, please contact Kelly Ryan at 905-667-4511.

While primarily supporting our spiritual values, our membership of 130 women, actively contribute to all areas of parish and community life. These commitments include support of the bereaved through our funeral receptions, planning spiritual and inspirational meetings for our members and providing an avenue where women can come together to support one another. Through our fundraising we provide financial support to parish projects and to needs within our community.
